The next republican primary debate will be held on Wednesday in Alabama, the candidates that were once 8 have now been narrowed down to 4 candidates this includes Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ron Desantis. These are the 4 candidates that have qualified to appear. This Primary debate required the candidates to have obtained 80000 donors and 6% in two of the US polls. The current poll leader Donald Trump will once again be skipping this forum just as he was not present for the first presidential debate. This particular debate will be hosted on NewsNation. This debate will be moderated by several conservative elearning journalists.
Several people have also as of recently dropped out of the race this includes Dakota Doug Burgum who according to BBC news struggled in the race trying to accumulate a lot of attention in his last race. The third debate that was hosted in Miami hosted by NBC, shared a lot of exciting and heated moments that caught the attention of many when Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley battled it out on stage along with Ron Desantis. According to Bill Barrow, Much attention will be going towards Nikki Haley because she will have the support of the Koch network. Desantis according to bbc news has been persuaded to drop out of the race along with Chris Christie. This is because they wish to push the majority of their support into Ms. Haley in order to have a better chance against the current poll leader Former President Donald Trump.
“The fourth debate is another fantastic opportunity for our Republican candidates to share our winning agenda with the American people," party chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. According to Bill Barrow (Associated Press) The candidates recent advancements suggest that the candidates plan to go after each other rather than attempting to directly compete with Donald Trump.
“It’s challenging for anybody else when Donald Trump is Consolidating supporters.” Republican Pollster Brent Buchanann. However these 4 candidates still have a lot of momentum in the upcoming debate. Ramaswamy has been a force to be reckoned with according to Bill Barrow. Most likely hee will be looking to spark the interest that he initially had in the first republican debate in August.
According to Bill Barrow, the debate will be hard to find for many prospective viewers. As it will be aired on NewsStation, a less popular cable network still in the process of building a big audience. Elizabeth VArgas will help moderate the debate as well as a fox news Anchor Megyn Kelly, and Eliana Johnson of a conservative news site, (Washington Free Beacon)
According to WBalTv, Desantis will be facing a new obstacle in his political operation, a large group of Pro Desantis Super Pac in Iowa has now parted ways with several of their top staffers over the weekend. However former vice president Mike Pence, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgham have all since resigned from competing in the race.
This leaves the last 4 candidates as well as Former president Donald Trump, who won the election of 2016 and was able to outpace an even more widespread and larger republican field. Trump was able to acquire southern primaries going from Virginia, Arkansas and Louisiana in his first Campaign. This reflects Donald Trump's influence over the party according to Jonathan Cooper.
