Dear Poudre High School Students and Families,
We are excited to be launching the renovation of the Career Tech Center at Poudre High School. As part of this renovation process, there will be asbestos abatement work conducted in one wing of the building. We are committed to handling this project with the utmost care. And, we want to ensure that you are well-informed and understand the steps we are taking to prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
Poudre School District is following all necessary protocols to minimize any potential exposure to asbestos under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) and other regulations. The area of the building to be renovated will not be accessible to staff and students during the abatement process. The asbestos abatement will be carried out by experienced contractors who are required to adhere to stringent regulatory standards designed to protect the health and safety of everyone in the building.
Once the abatement work is completed, our district's asbestos consultant will conduct thorough inspections and air monitoring to ensure a safe environment before students or staff re-enter this area of the Poudre High School building. We will utilize a certified Air Monitoring Specialist to conduct ambient air monitoring during the process, further assuring that safety standards are met.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve our facilities while maintaining a safe learning environment. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support.
Poudre School District
