Holidays often bring excitement, curiosity, happiness, and joy but pressure to foster perfect moments can be stressful and overwhelming. No matter what holiday you choose to celebrate, many families and individuals struggle during the holiday season, stress, money, food, and shelter may be a concern. It can be very stressful to balance family obligations and hosting house guests. According to the American Psychological Association, 38% of people surveyed said their stress increased during the holiday season, which can lead to physical illness, depression, anxiety, and substance misuse.

Consider setting realistic expectations and prioritizing self-care. Please remember, that seeking support services is a sign of strength and resilience, not weakness. Whether it's talking to loved ones or seeking professional guidance, there are resources available to navigate holiday stress. Together, finding solutions and embracing support around you can turn a potentially stressful holiday into a more enjoyable and meaningful time.

On average, one single therapy session fee approximately costs $60-$150 an hour. However many factors including insurance coverage can impact and influence the overall cost. Numerous free support services are available to you and others seeking assistance. Hotlines like the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-TALK) (988) or crisis text lines offer immediate support. Additionally, online platforms such as 7 Cups provide free emotional support through trained listeners. Throughout the holiday many factors need to be accounted for, United States of America Agriculture states that 12.8 percent (17.0 million) of U.S. households were food insecure at some time during 2022. Many recourses are available, (970) 493-4477 is a 24-hour line that provides food distribution to Larimer County residents and non-profit agencies. You can sign up to receive food at agencies such as First Christian Church, The Mission, The Open Door Mission, Salvation Army, and House of Neighborly Service.

The Food Bank is located at 1301 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins. Free shopping days are on, Tuesday: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, Wednesday: noon – 3:00 pm, Thursday: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, Friday: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, and Saturday: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.
