This class talks about the history of the United States of America, starting from before Europe was even contacted and going all the way to the beginning of the 21st century. This class has a pass rate of 72%; this means that 72% of people who take the class score a 3 or higher on the AP test. The AP test that many people take in the spring will have 1 Long answer question, 1 document-based question, and 2 Short answer questions. All of those will be in some form of easy format and will be practiced throughout the year. There will also be 55 multiple-choice questions on the AP test. This class will cover how to take the AP test and prepare you to pass it. In my opinion, this is a great AP class to take in your junior year after you have taken a beginner AP class like AP human geography to get you used to the AP style and the workload.
This class will cover 10 units, where the major periods of the United States will be covered in detail and show what questions would be like on the AP test. This class at Poudre is taught by Ms. Beauprez, is a IB and AP history teacher. This class is a year-long class taught every other day following the A B day schedule. If you want college credit and like AP classes, then this is the class for you. Although there is the possibility of getting credit, it isn't guaranteed, as you need to pass the test, and for some colleges to do really well on the test, the school needs to accept the credit. Even if you don't get the credit, this class will make a US history class that you have to take in college really easy because you already know the majority of the content.
